End to Ender Class 2013
Class Notes
A record number of participants started the Trace in January as we completed the first North to South journey along the Trace. A record number stuck it out and finished. To get there they braved four seasons of weather, heavy season of ticks, blazing of new trail. They were also the first to hike to the new southern terminus at that time - Leatherwood Ford in the Big South Fork. This was the first year when the official miles went from 287 to 309. This was also, sadly, the first time one of our backpackers, Gary Rue from Frankfort, passed away on the Trace while attending the fall Annual Trail Conference.
