Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Our volunteers are crucial to maintaining access to the Sheltowee Trace for all individuals. Check out the calendar below to see when we are going out for organized trail maintenance projects. Volunteers are welcome, regardless of experience. Tools are provided. All volunteers are required to sign a release before working and attend the on-site safety briefing.
Other Volunteer Needs
Organized Hikes - Are you an experienced hiker who loves to introduce new folks to the trail? Be a hike leader by proposing and organizing a hike through our chapters. We welcome anyone who wants to help out, as well as leaders who can offer enhancements to the hikes, such as backwoods instruction, historical lore, or natural science knowledge. Email us with your ideas!
Other Events - Are you a consummate host or event organizer? We already have several events yearly that could use your touch! And we would love to create more indoor and outdoor activities to show appreciation to our members and volunteers and to introduce new enthusiasts to our chapter. Email to join our events committee or trail angels group.
Special Projects - Everything from photos of maintenance days and hikes, publicity and communication tasks, working with our leaders to increase awareness among community leaders, grant writing - if you have an hour or two to spare, we would love your help! Email us.
Join us in Big South Fork on 10/27 to help complete the Fall Branch Bridge Project!
